Student support & services

Additional Support

If you have any additional support needs which may affect your learning, please complete the relevant section of the enrolment form. Alternatively you can contact reception on 0208 829 4229.

The Arts Centre has disabled access (from The Causeway) and at Bishop Douglass there is disabled access from Hamilton Road and a lift to the first floor. We can also assist by accommodating helpers or guide dogs in classes.

We cannot accept responsibility for an unsuitable venue, course or equipment if you choose not to disclose your support needs. Please inform your teacher and/or The Institute of any medical condition (e.g. epilepsy) which may affect you in class. Such information will be treated as strictly confidential.

Equal Opportunities Monitoring

We are committed to promoting equal opportunities in all areas of our organisation from the recruitment and employment of our staff to our services to our students.

We seek to provide an environment in which all individuals are encouraged to achieve their maximum potential and suffer no discrimination whatsoever on the grounds of race, gender, religious or political belief, sexual orientation, age, colour, marital status or disability.

Transfers

If you wish to transfer, you may be able to do so subject to availability and the permission of the teacher. If a transfer is arranged, the course fee paid can be used towards the cost of other courses.

Waiting Lists for Courses

If the course you want is full, you can ask to be put on a waiting list. You will then be informed if a place becomes available. Please note: You will only be held on a waiting list until the end of the term in which you apply.
